Dress Codes and Policies



The dress code MUST be followed. If it is not followed the student may be asked to sit out of the class.
No baggy clothing in any classes, this is important so the teachers can check proper body alignment, which will help prevent injury. The dress code is not an option it must be followed.



The Studio has ALL your Dancers attire available. Please see our registration/sizing dates to get your apparel for class.*We size each student individually in studio to ensure proper fitting and to ensure all students have the exact same style/color.

Policies and Procedures



*All Students must be potty trained.

** Shoes are based off of which class your dance is in


Registration: A registration fee will be due upon signing up. Registration fees are non-refundable and must be paid in order to be enrolled in a class.


Tuition: Tuition will be on an automatic w/d system or you may pay the year in full for a 7% discount. To avoid confusion, your yearly tuition has been divided evenly into 11 equal payments made Aug. through June. June lessons and all stage rehearsals for dance classes are included with the 11 month payment plan. There is no deduction for vacations or short months. There is no extra charge for months with five class weeks. Automatic w/d will take place the first of the month. Yearly tuition (Paid in Full) will receive a discount and are due before the 1st of August. Please mark the student’s name on your checks. *All returned checks or auto-withdrawal transactions will be charged a NSF fee.


Past due accounts policy:

Past due accounts policy: Late fee of $20 on the 7th. After 30 days past due dancer will not be able to participate. Accounts that are 60 days past due will result in the dancer being automatically withdrawn from all classes. No refunds will be provided in such cases. Any billing inquires must be emailed to: Billing@danceatgrandjete.com


Withdrawal and Refunds: One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. No withdrawals will be accepted after April 1. To withdraw from classes and parent or adult student must: 1. Inform studio director and 2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the office. All automatic bank debiting will stop after the one-month period. There are NO refunds or credits for missed lessons. Students are not allowed to drop classes for a month and then expect their place to be held the following month with the exception of doctor excuses.


Absences, Tardiness and Make-up Lessons: Solo classes must be canceled 24 hrs in advance to allow for a makeup class. Absences are discouraged. Tardiness is unacceptable. It is distracting if a student walks in late and disturbs the class. If a student was absent due to any circumstances tuition will NOT be reimbursed. If an injury occurs or other medical condition a plan will be made. Any student missing more than 4 lessons after March will be reviewed by their teacher and Director to see if they are capable of performing in the show. *A solo class may be an option to catch up to the class if too many absences occur. This would $30/30 mins.


Makeup lessons for missed classes due to absence should be made-up with in 2 weeks.


Solos: Solo Reservation Policy 1. Grandfathered Rights: • Current students who are already participating in solos will be grandfathered into their current spots. 2. Reservation Period: • When a solo spot opens up, current students who wish to reserve their spot must do so within 24 hours. After this reservation window, any unclaimed spots will be offered to students on the waitlist. 3. Waitlist Process: • Students on the waitlist will be notified in the order of their placement. Each student will have 24 hours to accept the available solo spot. If they do not respond within this time frame, the next student on the waitlist will be contacted. 4. No Guarantees: • Solo opportunities are not guaranteed and are considered a privilege reserved for exemplary students who meet the required standards of dedication, performance, and professionalism. 5. Additional Notes: • Students who lose their solos due to failure to meet standards or other circumstances will need to reapply or join the waitlist.


Substitutions: The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and the studio cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.


Dress code: The dress code MUST be followed. If it is not followed the student may be asked to sit out of the class.


Costume: Each class will participate in our Annual Spectacular. All students are encouraged to participate in the show . Costume orders are made to order and take 12 to 16 weeks to produce. Costumes range from $60-$90. Account balance must be paid to date in order to pick up costumes once they arrive in the studio.


Recital Fee: A $85 Recital Fee due 2/15 is charged per family Each family will get 1 recital video and 1 recital T-shirt included. The recital fee is non-refundable.


Tickets: Tickets for our Annual Spectacular will be available for purchase online in April/May.


Extreme weather or unexpected interruption of Classes: If classes are canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen occurrences the first class will not be made up or reimbursed, any after that we will have makeup classes. The studio has the right to cancel for extreme weather conditions or unexpected situations. If you are unsure whether there will be class due to inclement weather please call the studio 1 hour prior to your class.


Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all studio activities, such as recitals, extra classes, date the studio is open and closed. The studio will post all such notices on the website and through monthly emailed newsletters. It is the responsibility of the parents or adult student to inform the studio of any address or telephone or email change.


Care of Students: The studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive time before or after class.

Placement: Students are evaluated a the end of the year by all teachers to determine their placement for the fall. Age does no necessarily play a part in determining where a student should be placed. A student may be moved to a different level class, if the teacher finds that the student is not in the proper class for her ability level.
